Despite a growing push for equality across almost every country in the world, disparity between how economies treat men and women remains. This is despite evidence that inequality carries both social and economic consequences. For example, according to the Institute for Women’s Policy Research, implementing equal pay worldwide would decrease the global poverty rate among working women from 8.0% to 3.8%.
