Technology finds its calling supporting disaster relief

DESCRIPTION

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 2.6 billion people have been affected by natural disasters such as earthquakes, tsunamis and floods, in the last decade. The humanitarian sector is somewhere technology can have a significant and meaningful impact. Emerging technologies are already playing a crucial role in how countries are responding to natural disasters. Crucially, technology is also being increasingly used to help with the healing and recovery of areas in the months and years following a tragedy.
